Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!

Have you heard? It's Giveaway Day over at Sew Mama Sew...when they post links (so many!) to giveaways all over the blogosphere. The links are so bountiful that the event goes on all week so you can take your time browsing the wares and sign up for your chance to win on as many items as you'd like. Check it out.

Oh, and by the way, I'm in on the fun this year. So here's my contribution to the giveaway madness:

One "Love Is Spoken Here" pillow cover.

Gray corduroy, blue and charcoal felt letters. Fits any 12x12 pillow form (available at your local craft/fabric store). Did I mention that Design Mom digs it?

To enter, just leave a comment on this post, a funny one would be nice (this blog is rated G by the way, please and thank you). Giveaway is open until Friday, the 17th. I'll pick a winner randomly and post about it on Saturday. This giveaway is open to US residents and Canadians too.

If you like what you see, you are cordially invited to visit my etsy shop, Amme and Neb

Unfortunately, SMS Giveaway Day is a little late in the month this year, so today (Monday the 13th) is the last day I can accept  I can no longer accept custom orders, and Saturday the 18th is the last day before I put the shop on vacation mode for the holidays (I need to put the sewing machine away once the kids' Christmas break starts...you know, family togetherness and all that). But it will be open again in January, so stay tuned.
Thanks for stopping by and good luck!

  4. Beautiful pillow! Hmm, the only joke I can think of off-hand is a little dirty...

A pirate walked into a bar. The bartender said "Hey buddy, what's with the steering wheel in your pants?"
The pirate replied, "Arrgh, it's drivin' me nuts!"

  5. That is a good reminder! Especially since we seem to be going through a stint of not saying lovely things to each other. Sorry the comment wasn't funny...my mind just went blank!

  6. OK. I just want to make sure I'm not breaking any Amme and Neb policies by entering this giveaway. Am I OK? :) Love the pillow!!!

  7. The other day, my daughter was talking about a doener (German sandwich, she usually calls it doner on accident), and she messed up a tad more. "You put meat in bread, add tomatoes, and it's called a boner." Then of course, my hubby had her repeat it three times and posted it on Facebook. :P

    Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!

  12. That's such a cool pillow cover! Heh, I'm afraid the only kind of comedy I'm good at is physical comedy, which doesn't translate well over the internet. I make a mean fish face, though.

As you can tell, he makes me laugh, but not for the reasons he hopes. It's all good, though, because he appreciates any reaction.

    Things Mom Would Never Say

    1. "How on earth can you see the TV sitting so far back?"

    2. "Yeah, I used to skip school a lot, too"

    3. "Just leave all the lights on ... it makes the house look more cheery"

    4. "Let me smell that shirt -- Yeah, it's good for another week"

    5. "Go ahead and keep that stray dog, honey. I'll be glad to feed and walk him every day"

    6. "Well, if Timmy's mom says it's OK, that's good enough for me."

    7. "The curfew is just a general time to shoot for. It's not like I'm running a prison around here."

    8. "I don't have a tissue with me ... just use your sleeve"

    9. "Don't bother wearing a jacket - the wind-chill is bound to improve"

I can't use blue with girls but I can give it away to someone in Utah who can drum up more business for you. :)

And now I hope I don't win or what does that mean that God is telling me?

Let's see if I can come up with a funny... Hmm...

Well, my son (just shy of three) cracked up everyone in the post office this morning. I was holding him and he was chattering and playing and asking lots of questions, then tugged on my ponytail and came away with a handful of hair (going through postpartum shed, yay) and exclaimed "Holy lock of hair! What is that?!"

When my daughter was 2 there were several peanut butter balls missing out of a tin that I was giving to someone for Christmas, I asked her if she took them. She looked at me and said "Did you see me take them?" I said "No" She promptly replied "Then I didn't."

    Sneaky

  124. Trying to be funny on the spot is difficult. It's not like you can see me make a silly face or something - but you can imagine a really weird girl standing on her head, sticking out her tongue and chanting "I'd like to win!" over and over cheerleader style.

That would be me. (Actually I'm not really standing on my head. I was earlier though. I was showing my 4 year old that I still got it hehehe)

  126. I love love love this pillow! Fabulous. Super fabulous. I would try to be funny, but it's late and my brain is mush from trying to get all of these giveaways entered. So, I'll resort to flattery: I was going to give up, but I only had about 20 left to look at. One is yours and I'm super pumped to enter! Thanks for the chance. :)

  133. NIIIICE pillow cover!! I'll share one of my daughter's "Amandaisms"

she is 23 now, but still has her "amandaism moments"

she came home from school one spring day, (about 3rd grade I guess) and declared; "The teacher is reading us the best book ever!!!" My husband asked her what book is that? she said the Jungle Book. I then asked her; "do you know the name of the author of the book?" and she replied: "YES I DO, it's Barnyard Kindling."
My Husband about fell over he was laughing so hard, we all laughed, and Amanda was like, "what?" I explained that the author's name was actually
Rudyard Kipling. She said; "ohhh, I thought it was like us, we have a barn a yard, and we use kindling for the wood stove."

Thanks so much for the opportunity.
    :)

  134. Beautiful pillow!

My daughter has a new sense of humor and randomly comes up to me and while caressing my arm will say "Mama mama" in a very nasally voice. She laughs hysterically doing it.

  136. Not sure if you will think this is funny but I can't resist sharing the story: my three year old was crying because he wanted a candy bar that my husband said he couldn't have because of his bad behavior anyway my husband stepped out of the car (we were in the car at the time) to get some food and I took him out of his car seat and he asked for the candy again I said no. He then while crying says, "I thought you were my family". I couldn't believe it. LOL
