Watching Emma play basketball has been mighty fun the past few weeks.
The Bordens made some cool posters, and they are kind enough to share them. |
Look, they had to triple-team Emma to stop her! P.S. Our girls all wear crazy mis-matched socks to encourage team unity. |
Accidentally focused on the ref, but wanted to use this shot anyway because it's cool how she's shoving #6 away. |
Did I mention she scored the game-tying goal? |
Girls' church basketball is fun because if there's any sort of tripping or elbows thrown everyone's all, "Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" and there's way more high-pitched screaming and hugging going on than in boys' ball.
Emma has only played on an organized team once when she was 6 or 7. She's about 1/2 the size of almost every other player (whose ages go all the way up to 18). And we don't have a goal at home to practice on. But guess what? She's a force to be reckoned with. I love her natural athleticism (that's from her dad), confidence, and drive (yeah, those are from Scott too).
Though she be but little, she is fierce.
