I know they're learning how to round numbers, but this question just seemed odd to me. If you already know exactly how many pages Timothy read, why would you need to know "about how many" he read? Who cares?
i think jenica could write a short book on "homework questions that seemed odd".
i particularly love when the student's method must be Explain-ed. i salute E. for using a (technically) complete sentence - J. would have just written "rondned".
"Mom, are we doing anything tonight?" "Mom, I'm still hungry." "Mom, when I grow up I want to be the ninja of fighting and stealth." "Mom, what if the whole world is just a giant pop-up book?" "Mom, the most disgusting collection of all would be...a booger collection."

Hmmm... would 300 be correct as well?
