Strawberry picking

We had some super-fine weather for picking strawberries a couple of Saturdays ago. This was the first year we've gone as a family--there always seemed to be one thing or the other crowding our schedules in years past. The kids thought it was way cool, we ended up with two overflowing flats. We spent the afternoon snacking and snacking on our sweet bounty. Then that night Scott and I made pints and pints of freezer jam.

For some reason Afton was sure she needed a shovel.

Mmmm...I'm so jealous that your strawberries came from an actual plant and not the store!! Makes me miss my hometown so much!

Ooh! I made a strawberry spinach salad for our Mother's Day dinner, and I wish that we'd had freshly picked berries! Looks like a fun day.

And I love the Mother's Day video.
So so sweet.

So glad you got to go as a "family." Super fun!! And I'm so envious---Dad and I didn't get any strawberries this year---two tired after our fun in Seattle. :)

Love the pix!
